Caretaking and snow clearing in Crans-Montana
Building and residence maintenance on the Crans-Montana plateau, all year round.
Crans-Montana is full of residences whose owners are there only a few weeks a year, and of buildings whose communal areas carry on regardless. Snow falls early here and the access ways are on a slope. We work from Sierre, twenty minutes away, which lets us be there before anyone needs to get out.
Communal areas that take the season
On the plateau, the entrance hall takes in the melted snow, the salt and the grit that everyone carries in from outside. We do the halls, stairwells, lifts and ski lockers at the agreed frequency, heavier in high season than in spring.
Sloping access ways, cleared early
We clear the access ways, entrances and parking spaces with a snow blower and shovels, then salt and grit. The call-out happens outside office hours, from November to March, so the access ways are passable before anyone needs to get out.
Grounds kept from April to October
As soon as the snow melts we pick up the mowing, the hedge trimming and the surrounds, and we take the pressure washer to the terraces, paving and access ways that winter has left grimy.
Clearance between two occupancies
Cellars, attics and communal rooms fill up quickly in a mountain residence. We empty them and dispose of the contents, sorted, between two lets or before a make-good.
A pair of hands on site for the managing agent
When nobody from the managing agent is on site, someone still has to open the door to the plumber. We read the meters, handle the small repairs, let the tradespeople in and follow the work through to the end. We do not do their job for them.
The bin store in high season
During the holiday weeks a building on the plateau fills up all at once and the bin store follows the same rhythm. We take the containers out and bring them back, put the room straight and clean up whatever has spilled beside it.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you work for managing agents, or only for owners?
- Both. A managing agent hands us the routine upkeep of a building; an owner hands us their residence. The work is the same, only the person we deal with changes.
- What time do you clear the snow?
- Snow clearing is called out outside office hours, nights and weekends included, from November to March. The office itself answers from 07:30 to 19:00.
- Are you based in Crans-Montana?
- No, in Sierre, twenty minutes away up the road. We come up to the plateau all year round at the agreed frequency, and that is where the snow call-outs start from.
- Do you come all year, or only during the season?
- All year, at a frequency that follows the season: heavier from Christmas to Easter, lighter in spring and autumn. Grounds are worked from April to October, snow clearing from November to March.
- What if the building needs a tradesman?
- We open up, we stay with them and we follow the work through to the end. The quote and the invoice stay between you and the firm: we do not put ourselves in the middle.
- My residence is only occupied a few weeks a year. Does that change anything?
- Not for the communal areas or the grounds: they need the same upkeep whether the flats are occupied or not. It is the building we keep, not its residents' diary.
- How does a first contact work?
- You describe the building, we come and see it — the visit is free — and within 48 hours you get a quote itemised line by line: every service, its frequency, its exact scope.
- Is there a minimum term?
- No. We start with no minimum term: judge us over a quarter, then decide.
