Caretaking and snow clearing, Val d'Anniviers
Maintenance for the buildings and residences of the Val d'Anniviers villages.
A single road climbs the Val d'Anniviers from Sierre, and it serves the villages one after another: Vissoie first, then Saint-Luc and Chandolin on one flank, Grimentz and Zinal higher up the valley. We plan our visits accordingly: when we go up, we do the valley. Winter lasts longer here than down in the plain, and the snow stays until spring.
One road, grouped visits
Going up the valley is not a ten-minute errand. We plan the round so that several buildings are done on the same trip, and we agree frequencies in advance rather than promising to turn up on a phone call.
Timber, outside stairs, altitude
Anniviard residences mix timber and concrete: balconies, outside stairs, entrance halls that take the snow off everyone's boots. We do the communal areas at the agreed frequency and follow the rhythm of the valley, which empties between holiday periods.
Clearing what belongs to the building
The commune takes care of the village roads. We take care of the rest: the entrance, the steps, the ramp and the building's parking spaces, with a snow blower and shovels, salting and gritting included.
Spring arrives later up here
When the snow finally goes, the winter's grit is still on the access ways and the paving is marked. We bring the pressure washer, then pick up the mowing and the hedges — later than in Sierre, since the growing season up there is shorter.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you cover every village in the valley?
- Vissoie, Saint-Luc, Chandolin, Grimentz and Zinal. As there is only one road, we group the visits into a single trip up.
- Do you clear the village roads?
- No. Public roads are the commune's business. We clear what belongs to the building: the entrance, the steps, the ramp and the parking spaces. With a snow blower and shovels — we have no plough.
- The valley empties between seasons. Is it still worth coming?
- Less often, but yes. An empty stairwell still gathers dust, the containers still have to go out on collection days and the grounds keep growing. We lower the frequency out of season rather than stopping.
